Beat the Gridlock that Threatens to Choke
Washington Dulles International Airport and the
Port of Hampton Roads

Good ports don’t do the Commonwealth much good if you cannot easily access them!  Therefore, the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance, the Washington Airports Task Force and the Hampton Roads Partnership and have teamed up to alert Virginians to the threat that traffic gridlock poses to the future viability of Washington Dulles International Airport and the Port of Hampton Roads. The name of this partnership is BeatTheGridlock.com

Governor Kaine and Virginia legislators agree that Dulles and the Port are the Commonwealth’s two most important economic engines. Yet deteriorating highway conditions in Northern Virginia, Hampton Roads and throughout the Commonwealth are making these two powerful economic engines less and less accessible and likely to fulfill their economic potential.

That’s why securing new, sustainable, dedicated funding of at least $400 million per year for Northern Virginia, $200 million per year for Hampton Roads and $1 billion per year for statewide maintenance and construction in the June Special Session is so critical.
