USA-BIAS

Mission
Statement
- USA-BIAS
is a coalition founded in 1989 which consists of a number of U.S.
airports that seek increased international air service to and
from their communities. USA-BIAS was founded on the premise that
international air service supports economic development and, as
such, is critical to these communities' continued economic prosperity.
- USA-BIAS
advocates a U.S. international aviation policy which gives substantial
weight to the interest of U.S. communities when compared to the
interest of airlines in the formulation of aviation trade policies
by maximizing the potential for international trade, investment
and tourism opportunities for U.S. airports and communities. We
support more liberal open skies aviation agreements with foreign
trading partners, and the removal of impediments to service to
our communities by U.S. and foreign airlines on unserved and underserved
markets.
- USA-BIAS
seeks to achieve its objectives through:
- Advocacy
of greater attention to U.S. community and airport concerns
by United States Government agencies and officials in the
formulation of United States international aviation policy.
- Participation
in DOT proceedings that relate to the expansion and implementation
of the Cities Program or similar initiatives that benefit
USA-BIAS airports and communities.
- Attention
to key United States' bilateral aviation negotiations with
foreign countries where USA-BIAS members' interests are pronounced,
or where significant international aviation policy decisions
are contemplated.
- USA-BIAS
will not advocate positions to the U.S. Government which alter
the proprietary rights of airports.
