The WATF participation is nonpartisan, open to all, and includes through membership and advisory groups more than 1,000 business, government, civic, and travel and hospitality industry leaders from Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Only members and sponsors have a vote in the organization. Membership dues are paid annually and the categories are:

Organizations with over 50 employees $400 Organizations with 26-50 employees $225 Organizations with 11-25 $175 Individuals or organizations with 10 or less employees; non-profit organizations $125

Sponsorship categories are:

Visionary $15,000 Benefactor $10,000 Sustaining Sponsor $5,000 to $9,999 Contributing Sponsor $2,500 to $4,999 Governing Sponsor $1,000 to $2,499 Associate Sponsor $500 to $999

Sponsors are public-spirited companies who provide a higher level of financial support, normally because achievement of Task Force goals can expand their market base or reduce their transportation costs.
