Award Criteria
The Leo Schefer Community Impact Award is presented to a company or individual whose accomplishments demonstrate exceptional leadership and a commitment to advancing the community through one or more of the following:
- Aviation and transportation
- Economic development
- Public service
- Regional and global connectivity
- Community partnerships and collaboration
- Funding and infrastructure initiatives that create lasting public benefit
Recipients exemplify the vision and dedication to strengthen communities, improve accessibility, and create opportunities that positively impact the region for generations to come.
Presentation
The Leo Schefer Community Impact Award is presented annually during the Washington Airports Task Force Annual General Membership Meeting, where WATF recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations whose contributions continue to advance aviation and strengthen the communities we serve.
