The Washington Airports Task Force (WATF) Annual General Meeting is a signature event that brings together regional leaders, aviation stakeholders, and community partners to celebrate progress and shape the future of air transportation in our region.

The annual gathering serves as the official forum to elect new members to the WATF Board of Directors and honors outstanding contributions to aviation excellence through the presentation of the prestigious Williams Trophy. The trophy is awarded to recognize those whose “Leadership, Vision and Dedication in the Application of Aviation or Space that Enriches the Quality of Life on Earth.” Click here for more information about the Williams Trophy.

Eye on the Future with The Skies of Tomorrow is this year’s theme which explores the rapid advancements in air mobility technology that are turning yesterday’s science fiction into today’s reality.

With a special appreciation to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority First Responders who safeguard every journey from ground to sky.

  • Check in early for a meet and greet with honorees, insights on air mobility advances, and MWAA first responder guests.
  • Network with WATF Board members, business and community leaders, and VIPs shaping next-generation air travel.
  • Enjoy the program, over lunch, led by Master of Ceremonies and WATF Board Chair Chuck Stipancic, featuring keynote speaker Greg Campbell, Director, Virginia Department of Aviation.
  • From the flight deck, MWAA CEO Jack Potter shares how Washington’s airports are charting the course toward next-gen air travel.
  • Celebrate excellence with the Williams Trophy Award, honoring leaders in innovation, safety, and sustainability.
  • Final Approach: Conclude with a Q&A with honorees, moderated by Greg Campbell, on the skies of tomorrow.
