Support Air Service at Washington Airports
- Continue to support Virginia and Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) initiatives that ensure aviation industry competitiveness for Dulles and National.
- Actively support growth and expansion of air service at Dulles.
- Advocate for a sustained balance of air service between Dulles and National through protection of the Federal Aviation Administration’s Slot and Perimeter laws.
- Support expanded and new facilities at Dulles and National to accommodate existing and increased air service and to improve the customer experience.
- Work with the Virginia Department of Aviation to expand Dulles and National connections to Virginia’s airports.
- Encourage expanded air cargo and general/corporate aviation activity at Dulles.
Drive Region-Wide Economic Development
- Support unfettered growth at Dulles through smart land-use development.
- Help support economic development activities surrounding Dulles and National.
- Explore and support sustainability initiatives and cutting-edge developments in air transportation.
- Lead the Dulles Airport Scholarship Program and produce first-class events to mark important milestones within the regional aviation community.
- Pursue alliances with like-minded organizations to advance WATF mission and priorities.
Promote an Enhanced Regional Multi-Modal Transportation Network
- Advocate for all forms of transportation improvements that can expand the airports’ regional accessibility from all directions.
Sustain a strong and diverse Board of Directors
- Continuously foster and develop a board of directors comprising influential thought leaders, change catalysts, and decision-makers. They serve as ambassadors, disseminating the significance of air transportation in bolstering the economic vitality of the region to key opinion leaders.
